Tying the Royal Knot in the Cotswolds

While everyone was watching Dua Lipa and Calllum Turner’s wedding festivities in Italy last weekend, my attention was focused squarely on the quaint village of Kemble in the Cotswolds, location of the royal wedding of Queen Elizabeth’s grandson Peter Phillips and his lovely new wife, Harriet Sperling.

The second marriage for them both, the couple’s bridesmaids were their three teenage daughters pictured below. I thought they were so elegantly and appropriately dressed for the occasion, right down to the ivory flats.

As the story goes, Peter Phillips (the Queen’s oldest grandchild and only son of Princess Anne) and Harriet Sperling (a nurse for the National Health Service) were set up by their daughters who play on the same hockey team in 2024 and have been together ever since.

I loved watching all the videos and photos on Instagram last weekend and thought it would be fun to share them all here. For more wedding content – both royal and royal adjacent – you can visit here, here, here, here and here.

Meanwhile, I hope your summer is off to a great start. So far mine has consisted of 100% youth sports which has been fun but I am looking forward to getting my tan by an ocean later this month rather than in a folding chair on “Field 5”.

I am headed out on some fun trips while my boys are at camp and look forward to sharing my travels. Stay tuned!

That white umbrella! So chic!

They all wore white dresses and flower crowns made of lily of the valley. “Lily of the valley was definitely requested for its regal connotation. Myrtle is a symbol of beauty, grace and love and was requested on the same basis. It’s always included in every royal wedding bouquet,” florist Millie Richardson told the Telegraph“The girls’ head pieces also have been exclusively created with the lily of the valley flower.”

The ceremony took place at All Saints Church in Kemble, a historic parish village near Cirencester in Gloucestershire  — chosen not for grandeur, but for roots. Built from golden Cotswolds stone, Kemble has all the charm of the region’s more famous villages with none of the crowds.  Harriet grew up nearby, and the couple are genuinely locals.

The bridal party was the most talked-about detail of the day, and rightly so. All three bridesmaids — Harriet’s daughter Georgina, 13, and Peter’s daughters Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14 — wore matching Emilia Wickstead dresses with flower crowns, carried bouquets, and accessorized with earrings from Aspinal London.  The three girls, who have been quietly building a sisterhood since their parents got together, presented what one outlet called a wonderfully united front.

Ms. Sperling is a big fan of the London based designer, Wiggy Kit, which she’s wearing here at her wedding rehearsal and has worn to several public outings recently including Wimbledon. You can find her red and white striped sweater here and gaucho jeans here.

Super chic founder and designer of Wiggy Kit, Wiggy Hindmarch. She spends lots of time in Harbour Island, especially at The Dunmore (the best spot for lunch). Also fun fact: she is the sister-in-law of Anya Hindmarch, another famous London designer.

She has GREAT hair.
Harriet arrived in a long-sleeve white lace column gown by Emilia Wickstead, with sheer lace detailing on the bodice and a long dramatic train  — her veil held by her bridesmaids as she made her entrance. The jewels were the Pragnell family tiara, a glittering piece featuring laurel leaves and floral motifs.
