It’s (almost) HERE!!! There is a reason that Spring Break was created – it is time to get out of town. We are going to a place I have never traveled to before — Antigua. I am so excited to turn on my out of office and hop on a plane to relax for a few days and spend some time in the sun. I hope for those who celebrate, you are headed somewhere great or if not, have a nice staycation planned. Safe travels, Spring Breakers!
Carry-on Luggage — MZ Wallace finally made luggage. “Our first ever carry-on is made from mixed recycled polycarbonate and designed to fit conveniently into most overhead bins.”
PODCAST for the airplane: I haven’t listened to Molly Sims’ podcast, “Lipstick on the Rim”, yet but I am dying to listen to this episode with Lauren Santo Domingo — “Fashion Royalty and Ultimate Tastemaker, Lauren Santo Domingo, Puts Her Stamp on the Most Extravagant Beauty Indulgences and the Best People, Places, and Things”. Listen here.
AIRPLANE SWEATER: I am always freezing on airplanes and need a good sweater. Get this Vince onehere.
Beach ToteBOOKS: A dear friend of mine read my Truman Capote post and recommended that I read this book Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud, and the Last Trial of Harper Lee, This “superbly written true-crime story” (The New York Times Book Review) masterfully brings together the tales of a serial killer in 1970s Alabama and of Harper Lee, the beloved author of To Kill a Mockingbird, who tried to write his story. The second book is by an author I spotted Jon Meacham reading whilst sitting beside him at the tiki bar in Jamaica over New Year’s (don’t you just hate a name dropper). Of course I had to know what he was reading – turned out it was the second book by this author, Joel Dicker, but he is really best known for The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair. I am halfway through it and cannot wait to finish it on vacation. The accolades for this book alone are three pages long, most notably from The New York Times which calls it “unimpeachably terrific.”
Olio E Osso makes the best beach lip balm. The color goes perfectly with a tan.
