A few things I am looking forward to this Spring. Ten of them, to be exact. 🙂
1. GOLD JEWELRY
I love gold jewelry all year long but it looks even better with a tan. On a trip to New York last Fall, my friends and I happened upon a Rachel Cagner trunk show at the Veronica Beard store on Madison Avenue, and we all snatched up loads of her bracelets, rings and necklaces for ourselves and as Christmas gifts.
Her collection is whimsical, very affordable (anywhere between $50-100), and gold!
I have included a few pictures of her pieces below but check out her website and Instagram for more.
Plus a couple of other selections from Jo Latham and Moda Operandi.
Gold Heart Necklace
I bought this heart necklace at the trunk show and wear it everyday with my Jenna Blake paperclip necklace.
Shop Now2. A TRIP TO LONDON
During the height of Covid last year, I watched this excellent three part BBC documentary on BritBox called “Inside Claridges.”
I loved it so much that I actually booked rooms for my children’s Spring Break while watching the show — I had no idea if we would actually be able to go but it made me feel good just knowing I had a reservation and that maybe international travel would be possible again.
If you like luxury hotels and have always wondered what it takes to maintain that status year after year, you will love this documentary. We have lots of fun things planned on our trip, but I am most looking forward to staying at Claridge’s.
3. PRINTED GUCCI BAGS
Loving this colorful collection of Gucci handbags. I bought the small round one with the Double Gs and take it everywhere. I’ve decided I will literally buy anything with the color pink on it. Links below.
4. BROADWAY SHOWS
I am headed to New York next month for a quick Broadway run. I remember hearing that Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker were starring in a remake of Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite in 2019 and promised myself that I would figure out a way to see it.
Of course, Covid had other plans for us but I am so excited that they are finally on Broadway and I cannot wait to see them acting together in this iconic play. I want to see Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster in Music Man and the Tina Turner Musical as well.
5. A VAMPIRE FACIAL
I’ve booked an appointment for a Vampire Facial later next month. I am a little nervous about it (could they not have come up with a better name??) but have heard good things so am hoping to see a benefit. Description from my dermatologist below:
The Vampire Facial is a painless, minimal-downtime aesthetic treatment that uses medical microneedling to create tiny channels (micro-injuries) in the skin that allow for the penetration and absorption of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) through topical application. This powerful procedure produces marked improvement in skin texture, pores, acne, scars and overall tone and complexion. The Vampire Facial has become a patient favorite because it’s cost-effective and effectively treats multiple skin conditions for patients of all ethnicities, including tanned skin.
6. THE MODERN PROPER COOKBOOK
If you don’t already follow the girls from The Modern Proper, take a look at their website, Instagram account and now first ever cookbook! You can pre-order it now on Amazon for release on April 5.
They are so much fun to follow: watch their cookbook trailer here.
I alternate between TMP and Ina Garten if I need a reliable recipe. Some of my favorites are
Roasted Zucchini with Parmesan
Roasted Carrots with Pumpkin Seeds and Feta
7. STRAW BAGS
A few straw bag selections from Rebecca de Ravenel, Etsy, By Tatoufa, and J.Crew. Links below.
8. MOVIES AND SHOWS
A few interesting shows and movies are scheduled to be released this Spring.
9. MARIO BADESCU PRODUCTS
This is a great brand to try – the products are high quality and very affordable. My favorite is the face spray – the smell is incredible. If you are my friend, you have probably gotten this as a gift from me at some point.
10. AMAZON’S NUMBER 1 BEST SELLING BOOK: TELL ME EVERYTHING
Tell Me Everything is the Number One Best Seller on Amazon right now. According to the New York Times Book Review, it is “[A] beautifully written, disturbing and affecting memoir. This is literary nonfiction at a high level.”
From Amazon: “Part memoir and part literary true crime, Tell Me Everything is the mesmerizing story of a landmark sexual assault investigation and the female private investigator who helped crack it open.”
