Little Shop of Charming: San Francisco Based Hudson Grace

My brother and sis-in-law lived in San Francisco for a few years and I was fortunate enough to get to visit them early in their time there…soon after they arrived and began to experience California life, Covid hit and life became challenging to say the least.

During our visit, my parents and I stayed at the lovely Hotel Drisco in Pacific Heights, had some amazing meals, visited Alcatraz and a few other fun touristy things that I vaguely remember but what stands out in my mind the most is spending the afternoon shopping on Sacramento Street, and in particular at the charming & chic San Francisco-based store Hudson Grace.

In addition to the original, they now have ten locations(one in Atlanta!), and while there’s no substitute for visiting in person so you can see all of their beautiful selections, they also have a great website and Instagram account.

Here’s their story – they were curated before curating was cool:

Hudson Grace originated in the hearts and minds of best friends Monelle Totah and Gary McNatton, whose first shop opened in 2012 in the stylish Presidio Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. The brand is a juxtaposition of their design aesthetics and retail pedigrees. Her eclectic yet refined style pairs with his love of simple yet soulful silhouettes to form a timeless, covetable and accessible approach to home design and gracious entertaining.

A Loving Table – this would make such a thoughtful gift for a mom, grandmother, or dear friend: “Thirty style-setting women pay tribute to how their mothers and grandmothers have influenced their own styles of entertaining at home. Whether they proudly incorporate recipes passed down from a grandmother’s collection or follow a mother’s lessons for making guests feel comfortable, it is clear that family role models have had a strong influence.”
