I’ve just returned from a quick trip to visit my husband’s family in Fairfield, Connecticut which also coincided with a milestone birthday for me and while I normally shun birthday celebrations, this one was special. We went to a great dinner at French bistro Martel, took walks on the beach, played lots of Gin Rummy, spent a day shopping, and acknowledged happy hour promptly at 5 PM sharp every night while watching the sunset.
Two shopping highlights:
Marea: Fairfield is home to the Flagship store of the New England-founded brand, Marea. The shop is small, fun and charming and has all of the great Marea items for sale – striped tops and sweaters, jewelry, matching sets, bags with their signature logo, hats, jeans, and more.
Serena and Lily: One town over from Fairfield is a town called Westport that has incredible shops and restaurants including one of only 13 Serena and Lily Design shops in the U.S. It is three floors of beautiful furniture, linens, lighting, tabletop and accessories and is so much fun to walk around in.
And in honor of Independence Day – everything is on sale. At Serena and Lily, everything is up to 40% off including all their amazing furniture and sheets (the best linen sheets marked down from the regular price of $398 to $239.99).
And at Marea, 25% off many of their styles including shorts, dresses, sweaters and more.
Happy Fourth of July!
