Meghan Markle’s Jeans, a London Wedding, Paris Updates & More

Meghan Markle in the Veronica Beard Beverly Skinny-Flare Jean and La Ligne Solid Marin Sweater

Meghan Markle Jeans: I (like everyone?!) have Meghan Markle fatigue, but I must admit I love observing her style choices. Say what you will about the constant brand changing and self promotion (this Airmail article sums it up so well and made me laugh out loud), the girl knows how to throw an outfit together. I thought she looked great at their recent publicity tour for the Invictus Games in Canada, and was particularly focused on the jeans she’s wearing in the photos above and below. The jeans are perfect because yes, they’re jeans but they also look like pants and are equally stylish with the La Ligne Solid Marin Sweater as they are with the La Dôen Blazer she chose below. Town & Country published a story about everything she wore here: How to Replicate Meghan Markle’s 2025 Invictus Games Style.

Which is how I came to know that her jeans are Veronica Beard!

A Pretty Wedding: I loved this unconventional tailored wedding dress at the recent ceremony of Phoebe Knatchbull, cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry, in London. Her sister and London based designer, Daisy Knatchbull, is responsible for the aforementioned dress and can be seen on the right hand side of the photo in the pretty pink suit. Her appropriately named shop in London called Knatchbull is a collection of ready to wear and made to measure suits, jackets and the like. She makes beautiful things and I can’t wait to visit on my next trip to London – plan to add her to my London List.

Despite her family’s decades of royal tradition, Phoebe showcased a modern take on blushing bridal attire. The 29-year-old wore a sophisticated tuxedo-style dress. Paired with a decorative bow, Phoebe had the words ‘Mrs Glover’ embroidered into the cream-coloured fabric.

TATLER
The flowers, the shoes, the bow, the dress – flawless.
The bride’s sister and wedding dress designer, Daisy Knatchbull, owner of Savile Row boutique by the same name, Knatchbull. She takes appointments for your next trip to London and has trunk shows coming up in New York, Palm Beach, Dallas, Miami, DC and other major cities.

In other London news, it was a sad day recently when learning that The Chiltern Firehouse burned to the ground in a fire. Here’s an article featuring an Interview with hotelier André Balazs describing what happened and where he plans to go from here. I am so glad I got to visit — if only for lunch — after visiting The Coolest Museum in London during a trip last November.

Paris Happenings: A friend of mine is planning a trip to Paris with her daughter for high school graduation and was asking if I had any recommendations recently. I am no Paris expert but I do have some favorites based on recent trips (all listed here) but I immediately told her to check out the new and first of its kind fashion exhibit at the Louvre called Louvre Couture Art and Fashion: Statement Piece. A great destination to add to your Paris itinerary if you are going soon. The show runs from now until July 21, 2025.

Find my complete Paris list here.

Over a nearly 9,000-square-metre space, 65 designs are displayed, along with a number of accessories, newly illuminating the close historical dialogue that continues to take place between the world of fashion and the department’s greatest masterpieces, from Byzantium to the Second Empire. Each of these garments and accessories is on special loan from the most iconic fashion houses, both long-standing and recent, in Paris and throughout the world.

Louvre
Photo from my trip to Paris a few years ago when it was still under renovation. Don’t forget you can make a reservation to visit and avoid the lines.

Notre-Dame: Another must visit if you are going is of course, Notre-Dame, which was closed for renovations due to the fires in 2019 and has recently reopened. It is free of charge but highly recommend making a reservation.

A Spring Salad: I recently watched this Instagram Reel of Ina Garten making this incredible looking salad called Charlie Bird’s Farro Salad (which got its name from the NY restaurant) and it got me so excited for Spring. It has farro obviously but pistachios and mint and parsley and arugula and lots of other delicious ingredients topped off with an apple cider vinagraeitte – I cannot wait to try it.

The Magic City: I posted a few additions to my Birmingham Guide recently and thought I would share here as well. All of them are located in the charming neighborhood of English Village and include a stylish clothing boutique, a clean makeup store, and a an antique prints shop. You can find more details on these and other Birmingham Finds on my Instagram account.

Lé Weekend is not new but it was recently remodeled and has so many great brands.
Absolutely gorgeous selection of antique prints.
I fell in love with these beautiful antique insect prints.

I Need a New Purse: I feel like everyone is looking for a new purse this time of year. Your winter bag has been put through the wringer, it’s heavy, it’s suede or leather and it’s time for something lighter, brighter, smaller and fun for Spring. Loving the new Veronica Beard bags that meet all those requirements.

That’s all for now!

I’m excited for upcoming spring and summer travel…I’m headed to Turks and Caicos, my beloved Jamaica, a TBD resort in the Caribbean while my kids are at camp, Harbour Island for a 50th birthday trip with my college besties, and then a cruise to Spain, Portugal and Morocco this Fall with my hometown crew! Stay tuned for updates for everything here, on Substack, and on my Instagram account.

Enjoy the weekend!
